BRING PLAY AGAIN TO YOUR COMMUNITY!
Hosting a PLAY AGAIN screening is a great way to build community and inspire groups of people to work together to get kids outside in your area. Screening events come in all shapes and sizes so organize one that works best for your community. We encourage you to involve local organizations and businesses – they can sponsor the event by providing funding, items to raffle off, food or drinks, free venue space, or simply by sharing the event with their mailing list and helping get the word out.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (Please read before ordering) ORDER NOW!
I HAVE NEVER ORGANIZED A SCREENING – WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE? Decide on what audience you want to reach and what kind of event you envision, including your outcome goals. Choose a venue and date, with consideration for school holidays and local events that might present conflicts. Invite other groups to get involved as sponsors or organizers. Invite local experts, organizations, parents, or youth to speak or participate on a panel or host a table for their organization at the event, or schedule time for a more casual community discussion after the film. Advertise your event several weeks in advance as well as the week of the event – put up posters, post on facebook, send announcements to mailing lists, advertise with local media and invite local media to cover the event. Email us the details of your event so we can post it on our website. Test your DVD and make sure your equipment is working. Have fun and send us photos!
WHICH LICENSE DO I NEED? Order a Community License if you are an organization, non-profit or congregation hosting a one-time community screening. Order an Educational license if you are a school, museum or library wanting a multi-use, time unlimited license for ongoing use. Please feel free to order a home-use DVD for small, private house parties. If you will be charging admission or need a theatrical license please contact us for details.
WHAT IS PLAY AGAIN RATED? This film is recommended for children ages 10+ due to subject matter but parents know their kids best, so we leave it up to you. Although many younger kids view the film, we suggest that elementary schools use the film for educators and parents instead of students, and that younger kids watch with parents.
WHAT FORMATS ARE AVAILABLE? Play Again is 80-minutes long and available in HD DVD, both NTSC and PAL. If you need the film in another format please contact us for availability. The film is in English, with subtitles available in Spanish, Hebrew, Norwegian, Catalan, German and French coming soon. (NTSC is the standard DVD format in North America and NTSC discs will play on many DVD players/systems worldwide. PALS will typically not play in machines made for NTSC DVDs. Both are available on our website – just look for the dropdown menu when you are ordering.) The film will be available in a 52-minute version soon.
WHAT IF I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DVD? We recommend that order your DVD with enough time to test it prior to screening and make sure your equipment is compatible. So far we have only experienced two dysfunctional DVDs but it is always a possibility so be prepared and contact us if you need a replacement.
DO YOU HAVE PR MATERIALS I CAN USE FOR MY SCREENING? Materials can be downloaded from our website for free. If you need movie posters or additional PR materials, please contact us for prices. Please feel free to post your event on our facebook page. We will post your event on our website – please contact us with the following information in this order: name of event, date, time, venue/location name, street address, city, state, zip, country, contact email or phone number and any additional details you wish to include. When the event is over, we always appreciate an email with photos, comments and/or attendance numbers!
CAN I CHARGE ADMISSION? Unlike a Theatrical License, Educational and Community Licenses come with public performance rights, which is the right to show the film in public provided no admission fee is charged. Some groups do ask for a donation at the door as a fundraiser for their organization or a local outdoor program. In this case we truly appreciate a share of the proceeds (usually 50% of the door) to help us continue our outreach, but we leave this up to you. Thank you!
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS? Sales from DVDs and screening licenses are the only way we support our ongoing outreach efforts and we appreciate every order! We do offer reduced rates whenever we can to grassroots groups, k-12 schools and others with small audiences and small budgets. If the price listed is outside your budget range, please contact us to explain your circumstances.
HOW DO I INVITE A FILMMAKER TO MY EVENT? If you would like a member of our team to attend your event, please email our producer at meg@groundproductions.com for details. If you are in Europe, please email our director at tonje@groundproductions.com.
